What this website does with data – and what it does not.

This website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Geneva, Switzerland. An adequacy decision of the European Commission exists for Switzerland, so the transfer is permitted without additional safeguards.

When you visit the website, information transmitted by your browser is automatically stored in server log files:

• IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of access
• name and URL of the file retrieved
• website from which the access was made (referrer)
• browser and operating system used

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless operation and the security of the website. This data is not combined with other data sources, nor is it evaluated for marketing purposes.

Log files are deleted automatically after a short period, unless they are exceptionally required to investigate a specific security incident.

The hosting provider may derive aggregated access figures from these log files (such as page views and countries of origin). This evaluation is purely statistical, takes place solely on the server and allows no conclusions about individual persons. Nothing is stored in your browser for this purpose and nothing is transmitted to third parties.

This website uses no analytics or statistics services, no advertising networks, no tracking pixels and no profiling. There is no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

Fonts, images, book covers and videos are stored entirely on our own server. Opening the pages establishes no connection to Google Fonts, YouTube, content delivery networks or social networks. Your IP address is therefore not transmitted to any third party unless you click an external link.

This website sets a single cookie:

• rs_lang – stores whether you chose the German or the English version. It contains only the code "de" or "en" and no identifier by which a person could be recognised.

The language cookie is strictly necessary in order to deliver the language version you selected. Under § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG no consent is required for such cookies. As no other consent-requiring services are used, no consent banner is needed.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time. Without the language cookie the site is delivered in its default language, German.

This website has no contact form. If you write to me, you do so through your own email program. I process your details solely in order to deal with your enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, and for enquiries relating to a contract additionally Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Your message is retained until the reason for it no longer applies and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way.

Newsletter registration takes place through a form provided by Wix.com. Clicking the newsletter link takes you off this website. The privacy notice of Wix applies to the processing there. You can withdraw your registration at any time using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email.

This website links to external services, among them the Dianas Klosterlädchen shop, booksellers, social networks, the podcast and the institute. Those connections are established only when you click a link. From that moment the privacy terms of the respective provider apply.

Under the GDPR you have the right at any time to:

• access to the data stored about you (Art. 15)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
• erasure (Art. 17)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18)
• data portability (Art. 20)
• object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)

Independently of this, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
