What this website does with data - and what it does not.

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

This website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Geneva, Switzerland. An adequacy decision of the European Commission exists for Switzerland, so the transfer is permitted without additional safeguards.

When you visit the website, information transmitted by your browser is automatically stored in server log files:

• IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of access
• name and URL of the file retrieved
• website from which the access was made (referrer)
• browser and operating system used

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless operation and the security of the website. This data is not combined with other data sources, nor is it evaluated for marketing purposes.

Log files are deleted automatically after a short period, unless they are exceptionally required to investigate a specific security incident.

The hosting provider may derive aggregated access figures from these log files (such as page views and countries of origin). This evaluation is purely statistical, takes place solely on the server and allows no conclusions about individual persons. Nothing is stored in your browser for this purpose and nothing is transmitted to third parties.

This website uses no analytics or statistics services, no advertising networks, no tracking pixels and no profiling. There is no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

Fonts, images, book covers and videos are hosted entirely on this server. No connection is made to Google Fonts, YouTube, content delivery networks or social networks when you visit the pages. Exceptions are the newsletter form on the home page, the online card reading and, only with your consent, Digistore24 on the Socrato pages. These are described below.

This website stores the following in your browser:

• rs_lang - stores your language choice ("de" or "en"). Strictly necessary under Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, no consent required.
• rsl_ds24_ok (local storage of your browser, not a cookie) - remembers on the Socrato pages whether you accepted or declined Digistore24, so the notice does not appear again. Strictly necessary.
• Cookies set by Digistore24 - only with your consent, see the Digistore24 section.

A consent notice appears only on the Socrato pages, because only there a service requiring consent (Digistore24) is embedded. All other pages contain no such service and therefore show no notice.

You can delete cookies and stored website data in your browser at any time. This also withdraws any consent you have given. Without the language cookie, the site is delivered in its default language, German.

This website has no contact form (for the online card reading see below). If you write to me, you do so from your own email program. I process your details solely to handle your enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, and additionally Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for enquiries relating to a contract. Your message is kept until its purpose has been fulfilled and no statutory retention obligations apply.

You can subscribe to my newsletter on this website. Sending and administration are handled by the Newsletter service of Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugene-Marziano 25, 1227 Geneva, Switzerland. The signup form is loaded from Infomaniak servers (newsletter.infomaniak.com, webform.statslive.info) when the start page opens; your IP address is transmitted to Infomaniak in the process. The form does not set cookies.

Registration uses the double opt-in procedure: after submitting the form you receive an e-mail containing a confirmation link. Your address is added to the list only once you click it. Stored are your e-mail address as well as the time and IP address of the registration and of the confirmation, in order to document the consent.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, via the unsubscribe link at the end of every newsletter or by writing to me. Your address is then deleted from the list. Switzerland is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission.

At /socrato/legung/ you can draw a reading with the Socrato card deck and receive a written interpretation. For this I process:

• Your email address, to send you an access code and the interpretation including a PDF. It is deleted after sending unless you ticked the newsletter box.
• Dates of birth (your own and, where applicable, your partner’s) solely to calculate the cards. They are neither stored nor passed on.
• Your question, the cards and the interpretation. They are stored so that you can open your reading again via a personal link, and are deleted automatically after 90 days.
• Encrypted check values (hashes) of your email address and IP address, to limit the number of readings per day and prevent misuse. The original data cannot be recovered from them. They are deleted together with the reading.

For the interpretation, your question, the drawn and calculated cards and text excerpts from the Socrato book are transmitted to Anthropic Ireland, Limited, the provider of the AI model Claude. Processing takes place on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Data Processing Addendum); Anthropic does not use the content to train its models. Processing may also take place in the USA, based on appropriate safeguards under Art. 44 et seq. GDPR. Email address, name, dates of birth and IP address are not transmitted. Please do not include health data or other particularly sensitive information in your question.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (providing the requested service) and your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR given in the form. For the daily limit it is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (protection against misuse). The interpretation is generated automatically but has no legal or similarly significant effect within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

If you tick the newsletter box, your email address, already confirmed by the access code, is stored together with the time of your consent and added to my newsletter list at Infomaniak (see the Newsletter section).

Paid readings are sold via Digistore24 GmbH, St.-Godehard-Straße 32, 31139 Hildesheim, Germany. Digistore24 acts as the seller and processes your order data under its own responsibility according to its privacy policy. For a subscription, Digistore24 sends me your email address, the order number and the subscription status (for example active or cancelled) so that your readings can be unlocked. I store this data for the duration of the subscription and beyond that only as far as statutory retention obligations require. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

On the Socrato pages a script from Digistore24 may be loaded. It attributes orders to the partners who recommended the offer and sets cookies for this purpose. Your IP address is transmitted to Digistore24. The script is only loaded if you choose "Accept" in the notice. The legal basis is your consent (Section 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the stored website data in your browser.

This website links to external services, among them the Dianas Klosterlädchen shop, booksellers, social networks, the podcast and the institute. Those connections are established only when you click a link. From that moment the privacy terms of the respective provider apply.

Under the GDPR you have the right at any time to:

• access to the data stored about you (Art. 15)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
• erasure (Art. 17)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18)
• data portability (Art. 20)
• object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)

Independently of this, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.

This privacy notice will be adapted when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here is the one that applies.
